Description

Nye have the body of a cougar, with a fluffy tail, and a long neck and head like a weasel. Extending from its shoulders are large feathered wings. They nye's ears are very tall, and the edges are feathered. The effect makes the nye appear to have two large main wings, and two smaller wings on its head. The nye fur ranges from a light brown, with a vanilla chest, neck, and muzzle, to black or even white.

Gender Differences

The male nye is larger and more muscular than the female. A male nye can grow up to five feet at the shoulder and eight feet long from head to flank (not including tail). The female nye can grow up to four feet tall, and six feet from head to flank. There is some deviation in this, but this is considered average.

Habitat

Nye are not very social creatures, and thus are very rarely seen. If befriended, they can become a steadfast and loyal companion. They are believed to be wise, and very intelligent.

Strengths

It has an ability that can aid it in living an incredibly long life, if not forever. This allows for time to gain knowledge and powerful skills.

Weaknesses

The nye cannot survive in a barren land of ice or rock. It must be near life to survive. Nye are mortal despite their ability. If their throat is slit, they will die.

Abilities

The nye have a very odd ability unique to them. They can live for nearly forever with this ability. When a nye is born, it immediately bonds with the strongest life force near it. This can be a tree, or another animal, whatever has the strongest life force. The nye grow quickly, and are adult size in almost four years.
As they travel, the link with their first life force fades. It takes a week to break the bond with the first life force, but once the link is broken, it will attach to the strongest life force near it immediately. To break a bond, the nye will have to travel nearly ten miles from the living thing it has bonded to. If, in it's area, another living thing is born with a stronger life force than the original, the nye will bond with it.
In a barren wasteland, the nye can only survive off its own life force for three days. Once bonded to something, the nye lives with the same life span as the living thing they are bonded with. They can bond with trees, animals, mortals, anything with a life force. (Cannot bond to vampires). This bond is involuntary for the nye, it does not intentionally bond to anything. It's spirit just bonds with the strongest life force near it. Once this is done, the nye can communicate telepathically with the one they are bonded to. Beforehand they cannot speak to anyone, verbally or mentally. They must be bonded to speak.
When the life force they are bonded to dies, their bond will break and the nye will instantly bond with the next living thing with the strongest life force that is around.
