This mysterious race is so rare, even the ancient fae and elves are skeptical of their existence. Indeed, the mysts are very illusive, and if one is seen, those dare don't tell the tale, for fear of being called a drunkard. A myst, when their power is not active, has smooth flesh which is pure white, and glitters different colours in the light, like the mother of pearl. Their forms are primarily elvish in appearance; delicate, lean, and graceful. Their eyes are pure white and posses multiple, light grey pupils, making them appear like moons. These pupils are usually different sizes.
Beginning at their foreheads, and arching, or twisting back are solid horns, the same glittery white as their flesh. Their ears are pointed, much like an elf's, but are split down the center, creating duel pointed ears. The mysts hair is much like silk. Myst hair is either white or black, but the tips of their hair can be nearly any colour from blue, to silver, any colour.
There is a spike extending back from their elbows. They also have a hidden weapon on their bodies. Along their arms, hidden just under the flesh is a flat, razor like bone. At the will of the myst, this bone will extend a solid foot or more, straight out from the wrist and over the hand.
The myst society is one of self acceptance. When the single myst accepts himself for who he is, then they ware fully part of the society. All myst are connected through a spiritual link, and when they are close by, can communicate telepathically. When a young myst is considered an adult, is of no particular age, but when the myst accepts himself for who he is, what he is, and what he will become.
Myst do not look down, or at others for what they are. It is considered child like to judge others for what or who they are. Though myst do not judge, they believe good and evil are part of the being, and it is understandable to follow what one's destiny is to be. For a good and evil myst to fight is acceptable, and understandable. For myst to go after the good or evil of another race is also accepted and understandable.
The government of the myst is one of ancient origin. Because all myst are connected spiritually, each knows if the other has accepted himself. They rule themselves through a system of voting. Every five to seven years, all myst who have accepted themselves and considered adult, meet at the center of their city.Through their mental and spiritual links the mysts understand that the strongest among them, whether good or evil, will become their leader. If there are more than one myst who possess a powerful will, then the system of voting for who believes is the better. Of course, the one that gets the most votes wins.
The leader oversees that the society, and the city stay unseen from the rest of the world. Though, at times, the leader will send scouts to keep watch on the world.
The myst do not ally with other races, and during wars or battles, they will stay neutral. Few myst will leave the city or society to venture into the world. These myst will commonly become a type of negotiator between warring kingdoms or small random battles or fights.
Moon Eyes
Like any elf or human, male and female myst are obvious. They have the same proportions as the human and elvish races. Male myst tend to be slightly taller than the female myst, as is with the human race. Though this is not always, but only what can be considered average.
Within the society, there is no such thing as male or female. The myst do not hinder the rights, nor the desires of either sex. Everything is open to both in the way of life. Female myst, who have entered the human world as humans (see abilities) have found the society looks down upon them as the weaker sex. The myst do not see this as a fault, but rather as another of the child like judgments.
Male myst are usually around 5feet 6inches - 6feet 4inches. Female myst are usually around 5feet 4inches-6feet.
For a myst to have children is a miracle. Mostly because their bodies are so adapted for individual survival, that baring children was long forgotten by their bodies. Myst have children unlike any other race. The female carries the child for four months, then departs into a cave located near their city. Here, the child is born among the crystals, and left in the presence of magic for another three months. The child myst will emerge from the cave as a very young child of about two years, barely able to walk. Then, this child is accepted back into its mother's arms.
The myst do this to purify the child. How the child survives this feat is unknown. Though, in the myst society, it is believed that the magic will cure any physical faults within the child's form, such as any sort of deformity. Because of this, there are now known mutations among the myst. It is very difficult for a myst to become pregnant, and when this happens, it is an event of extreme importance and meant for wild celebration.
Homosexuality is completely understood and accepted in the society. The myst do not judge others for what they are, and frown and shake their heads at those that do not accept.

Myst do not have any sort of one type of clothing. They tend to enjoy wearing whatever makes the self feel the best. For jewelry, myst do not wear precious metals, but tend more to wear beads, feathers, and shells.
The religion of the myst is unique. Though they have no gods, they worship the Self. The Self is the individual myst, and all the myst at the same time. Because they are all connected spiritually, the myst worship all myst, and themselves at the same time. This is not due to an ego problem, but rather to the state of acceptance. When one accepts themselves, they accept the Self. The Self provides no powers above spiritual support, and the feeling of always having someone to go to for help. It is not the feeling of never being alone, but rather, the feeling of not being alone when one needs company.
The mysts most powerful ability is the ability to become the substance they touch. This depends on the strength of the mysts will.
A myst with a low will cannot control their power, just as king Midis in the fairy tale could not control his ability. Even if they accidentally touch a wood table, their forms will suddenly become wood. These myst cannot even keep themselves from becoming the substance of their clothes. Though, it takes only a thought of these myst to drop the substance from their forms, and be again as they were.
A myst with a medium or average will can control their power. When a myst touches anything, such as a tree, their bodies will become the substance and make up of the tree. They are able to mold their forms into the object. When they touch a tree, or even sand, they will become this substance and mold into the object of similar make up. Because of this, they can seem to disappear.
A myst with high will can not only control their power, but have mastered it. Not only do they become the substance when they touch it, and not only can they meld their bodies into this substance, but they can manipulate the substance. If a myst touches a tree and becomes the substance of the tree, they can manipulate their bodies, growing spikes or whatever they wish. When they meld into the tree, they can manipulate the entire tree itself. This is deadly, for if a myst of high will, and evil intent melds into the sand, it is the sand. It can bend the sand to his will.
All myst can appear like other races. They can only appear like other, non beast like races. When a myst touches a human, the myst will appear human. It is not a clone of the human, but appears as a human. This only works with humans, elves, dresall, and scerg. Myst know when another myst is melded into a substance or hiding in a form nearby. Myst cannot take the form of animals or insects, though they can meld into the form of plants, grass, ect.
There is no time limit to how long they can hold their forms and substances. It is whenever they wish to drop them. However, once a myst drops a form/substance, it much touch the being/substance again to regain it.
The myst fighting style relies on their ability. Often, a myst will not carry a weapon, using whatever substance is nearby. If a myst does carry a weapon, such as a sword, it is not so much of the mastering of the ability, but for the substance. For a myst, carrying a sword is pointless. If one wishes to carry metal, all that is needed is a lump of iron, or even a small knife. A myst will touch the substance, and become the metal. High willed myst can then craft their bodies into a powerful weapon.
Again, the myst strengths are in their ability. They use the world around them to their advantage. Myst can shape their forms, and become the substance of anything; water, sand, rocks, metal, wood, cloth, anything. They also have the Self, which makes them very motivated, and a motivated myst on a mission is not something to stand in the way of.
Myst rely heavily upon their ability. If they are too weak to use it (which is rare) they are vulnerable. Myst also cannot see well in the light. Their moon like eyes are meant for the night and evening. Though they can see in the sunlight, it is much like a human trying to move about during a night of half moons. One can see, but cannot see well. When a myst is asleep or unconscious, their ability will return them to their natural form. Myst cannot become the substance of light, shadow, or air. The substance they become must be either solid or liquid.
Hirayn
The mythical city of the myst. The city thrives with life, though rarely are any goods imported or exported. Very rare do any other race but the myst are there. If ever another race finds their way into the city, they are never allowed to leave, but allowed to live among the myst. The city itself is large, with each living dwelling having a garden in its back yard. Though the labyrinth is covered in mist and monsters, Hirayn is a sunny, beautiful city, though it is likewise made of stone.
The myst have three main times of celebration. The time every five to seven years when the new leader is elected or rises, the event of a female myst becoming pregnant, and when a myst finally accepts himself and the Self. These are often celebrated by parties, displays of magic, dances, and plays.
Myst have the longest lifespan of the races. They, much like the trees, can live nearly two thousand years. When a myst dies, their bodies do not decompose, but rather mold into the material they die upon.

The myst have no set language among themselves, but rather make sounds with their mouths to emphasize their emotions to others. Through the Self, they communicate. (The telepathic link) Because of this, it is impossable for any other race to learn the 'language' of the myst. Though, myst have the potential to learn the language of any other race.
