Lyrus are hefty creatures with cat heads and human bodies. They average at 5ft 10in to 7ft 8in for males, and 4ft 11in to 6ft 4in for females. They are fully human in appearance from the middle of the chest down. They do not posses claws nor tails, but their heads, neck, over their shoulders and somewhat onto their chests and backs is cat like and covered in fur. The majority of the lyrus have panther like heads with pointed ears, deep dark colored eyes, and long saber teeth which curve back and descend below their jaws.
Males are very muscled, and very strong. The females are thin with female proportions. Female saber fangs are normally thinner and longer than male saber fangs. Male saber fangs are thick and much shorter.
The lyrus are found in many different climates and habitats over Aztersil. Though, they are most numerous in the jungle, lyrus have been found in the forests, and occupying ruins in the forgotten valleys.
Lyrus are not very aggressive, and will normally hide from strangers if their territory is invaded. They live in large groups of 20 ?0 other lyrus. They are somewhat nomadic, following their food source, whatever that may be. They are intelligent, though are not what one would consider cleaver. Lyrus are very fascinated with the world around them, and seek to protect everything living, even if it is considered evil. Because of their great love of nature and the living, lyrus despise any and all undead creatures such as vampires, wraths, ghosts, zombies, and any other creature that inhabits the world that is not alive. They also despise those who disgrace life, or those such as necromancers that seek to revive the dead.
The lyrus strength rests in just that, their physical strength. While they seek to carry spears and bows and arrows, the lyrus are very crafty hunters, and a face to face battle with on is suicide. They do not have claws, and are not very fast on their feet, they are keenly adapt at face to face physical combat.
Lyrus are very weak against nearly all magics, especially that of necromancers and other undead magic. They fear it with the power of a phobia and will normally flee on sight of a magic user. They do not have the cleverness of a cultured creature or race, but they are intelligent enough to survive on the wild and on their own.
The lyrus have no special abilities at all. They can see in the dark as any cat can, and they do have the ability to speak a slurred speech, though their saber fangs tend to get in the way.
Males live to nearly 100, while females live to nearly 120 on average.
