Frythan are rat like creatures, who are used as one of the main slave forces among the world. There are two types of frythans, chained and feral.
Chained frythans, also known as domesticated or enslaved, are small. The males are no taller than 5ft, and the females are no taller than 4ft 8in. They have mouse like faces, with small black eyes. Their eyes are entirely black, with no whites, and seemingly no pupils.
Their heads are mouse like, with large, slightly pointed, instead of the normal, perfectly rounded ears of a mouse. Their bodies are covered in short fur that can be nearly any natural colour in any pattern. The only parts of their bodies that do not have fur are their arms and legs from the elbows and knees down.
Frythan bodies are normally lean, but , depending on their work, can be very muscled. They walk upon their toes, knees slightly bent. Frythans possess a very long tail, which can be either furred or un-furred. This tail can be, at times, longer than their bodies.
Chained frythan have tiny claws upon the end of their fingers and toes. Their fingers and toes are thin, and very flexible and dexterous.
Feral frythans, also known as free frythan, are much larger. Males stand to nearly six feet tall, while females stand to nearly five feet nine inches. Their body structure is stockier than that of the chained frythan. Feral frythan have a body shape much like that of the chained, they are covered with short fur that can be of any colour or pattern, a long tail that can be furred or un-furred, and from their elbows and knees down are un-furred.
They have much sharper teeth, and are proportioned more like rats than mice. Their teeth tend to be pointed, and their ears are more pointed than that of the chained frythan. They have long, rough hair that is much like that of a horses mane. It grows from their heads, and down their backs. On some feral frythan, it can grow around their heads in a lion like mane, or from other parts of their body in different styles.
Unlike the chained frythan, feral frythan have very long claws on their fingers and toes. Their eyes can be other dark colours, while the chained frythan can only have black eyes.
Female frythan are much slimmer than male frythan. Female frythan are rare, as they are owned by the strongest male frythan of the pack. Female frythan fur tends to be much softer than male frythan fur.
Chained frythan are the frythan that are enslaved. They live with whoever owns them as the servant or slave to do as they are ordered. Feral frythan live much like the rah. They live in the forest, in packs for families. They dislike very cold weather, and will not be found in any tundra region. They love forests, however, and also tend to live in shallow cave systems.
Chained frythan are very docile, even nervous and shy of strangers. They are normally used as house slaves, or as field slaves. Feral frythan are very aggressive to strangers, and have no problem, nor fear at attacking without signal. They live in small packs or families of about six frythan to a family. There is one adult male, and two or three smaller, young males. The rest of the frythan in the family are female.
Feral frythan wear armor, and wield weapons. They normally prefer large heavy weapons, such as axes, and broad swords. They enjoy making deals with humans, klavden, scergs, or raptors to act as mercenaries in battle.
All frythan are very hyper, and have near limitless metabolisms. Because of this, they eat nearly their entire weight every day in food. Frythan can eat nearly anything, from rotten plants, to spoiled meat, and anything in between.
Frythan can eat nearly anything and survive. They can live in the poorest conditions and thrive. Instead of having one or two children, frythan females tend to have close to five, helping their population. They can wield magic, though tend to be more of a hands on type of creature.
Frythan hate fire. They despise flame and anything that goes with it. They do not thrive well in cold, tundra regions. Frythan, especially feral frythan, are not very intelligent. Though they are clever in the way of fighting and hiding, they can be easily tricked.
Frythan, especially the feral frythan, use their tails as weapons, much like a whip. They can grip it in their paws, and tie barbs to the tip, making it a deadly weapon. Frythan are also expert swimmers from birth. Frythan have the ability to learn to speak all languages but for mental languages.
Frythans are very hyper creatures, and have a short life span due to their bodies burning themselves out. Frythans reach maturity at about 10 years old, reach a prime age at about 20-30 years old, are considered old at about 50, and die around 60 years of age.
