Drasescourge is also known as the Exotic Wasting Disease. Drasescourge can only be contracted from drinking swamp water. The virus can only survive within the remote waters of swamps located deep in the forests and jungles. Once ingested it comes in four stages.
Stage One
Stage one consists of the incubation stage of 12 days in which the infected shows no physical signs of having the virus but they will have a slowly increasing aggressiveness. After the 12 day incubation period, the infected will begin to show physical signs of having the disease. The spines of the vertebrae from between the shoulders down to the lower back will lengthen and grow through the skin. As this happens, the body of the infected will begin to seemingly waste away with no visible cause.
Stage Two
When the infected ascends into stage two, the body becomes emaciated, and a long, very thin tail will grow from the base of the spine. This tail is tipped by a blade that will appear in different types of styles. Some will seem to curve back upon themselves, while others will form a jagged edge. The tail is very, very long, well over twice the length of the infected? body. During this stage, the spines on the back will grow. Flat tips will appear upon the ends of these spines. These tips are shaped like leaves, but show no real use in this stage.
Stage Three
The body begins to warp, and fill out from its emaciated state. The spines on the infected? back will grow to reach about four or five feet long. The flat ends of the spines will take on a color, such as blue, green, or red, and glow. The flesh of the infected will turn deep black, and the bone structure will begin to shift. Gills will appear just under the jaw, along the side of the throat. The infected begins to lose all bodily hair.
Stage Four
In the final stage, the bone structure shifts completely. The head takes on a dog like appearance with a long snout, and elongated teeth. There are no ears visible, but there are holes in the side of the head which are covered by thin, movable flaps of skin, much like that of a reptile. The body reforms into a very lean creature that walks with knees bent upon four long toes. The creature mainly walks upon two legs, but has the ability to roll the shoulders back, dislocating the shoulder joint and rolling it into a second socket below the original socket to allow for four legged movement. The spines upon the back are mobile, and can be raised and lowered at will.
While the final stage of creature appears nothing like the original, there are some similarities. The eyes are usually the same colour as the original creature. Thought processes return to normal once the stages are complete. This will usually result in the infected losing their minds in a realization of what they have become. Drasescourge are also known as ?ea dogs for their doglike appearance combined with the features of some exotic sea beast. The four toes of their back feet are webbed, while the five fingers of their hands are not.
Drasescourge are noted for their adaptation to both land and water. They can perform perfectly in both atmospheres, though they all have an extreme hatred for electricity.
Once all stages have been completed, and the true creature of the Drasescourge emerges, the creature will live near deep water. While the Drasescourge itself can breathe in water, it prefers to live on both land and water, while resting on land. It will have a cave or some manner of home on land, which will be located very close to a source of deep water. This can be a large river, pond, spring, or more likely the ocean.
Once the transformation is complete, the Drasescourge takes on the original thinking of the creature it previously was. Many Drasescourge are insane due to this. When the infected realizes what they have become, many do not adapt well and fall into a feral frame of mind. Because of this decline in thinking, Drasescourge are looked upon with scorn and hostility by civilization.
Drasescourge are extremely adaptable, and can fit into almost any environment, provided it is livable.
Drasescourge despise lightning, and are thus very afraid of thunderstorms. Lightning attacks and magics can be fatal to them after a single blow.
The creature is able to breathe and live underwater. A Drasescourge is a powerful enemy, as it can move lightning quick, and uses the blade on its whip tail as a fatal weapon. They are also able to move upon two or four legs with ease as a result of two shoulder sockets. Discussed in Stage Four.
The life span of a Drasescourge does not increase after gaining the disease. The remaining lifespan of the creature who was infected will be the same after the disease is contracted.
