Desislav appear mainly human, but with two main, and very obvious differences. Desislav have odd tattoo like markings over their bodies, mainly under their eyes and along their collarbones and over their arms. These markings are in the form of swirls and other rune like designs. The colour of these markings ranges from black, to white, and other deep colors. Their hair is usually the exact opposite color of the markings. If the markings are white, their hair is black, and so on.
The skin of the desislav is much like a normal human's, but is either pale white or yellowish gold. Desislav are the only of the Aztersil races that posses wings. When they are born, desislav wings are completely covered with feathers. As they age, the feathers slowly fall out, receding up toward the top of the wing. As they fall out, the leather of bat like wings is slowly exposed. Their bones are semi hollow to allow for easier flight, though the wings are muscular and large to lift them into the air.
The average height of a male desislav is 6ft exactly to 5ft 5inches. The average height of a female desislav is 5ft 9in to 5ft 4 in. The average weight of a male desislav is around 160lbs, while the average weight of a female is about 120lbs.
The desislav are very secretive, being the type to sit in a dark corner to watch and observe everyone else. They have relations with all other races, but the scergs, though they have more relations with the dresall than most other races but for the elves. Their relations with klavden and dune raptors are very strained.
The desislav society is one of eased lawfulness. They see themselves as the police force of Aztersil, often going after pirates and scergs in bands. They have built a massive onyx prison where most of the world's criminals are sent to collect bounty and held. The Desislavian capital city has been built around this prison. Their government is centered around a small group of the eldest and most experienced. These few run the city, and keep order in their land.
They govern themselves by their laws. It is unheard of for a desislav to disobey his or her laws. Though, a small council of high desislav rules them. These High Ones are the ones that make the laws for the entire city or race to follow.
Falling Angels
Because the desislav regard themselves as being the police force of Aztersil, and are commonly on the bad side of nearly every 'evil' creature in the world, they earn the title Falling Angels because of their wings. Normally, a desislav who has already lost all his or her feathers is called a Fallen Angel. It is a term used in spite to tell them they may not be as pure as they believe.
Male desislav tend to have sharper, raven like feathers, while females have more rounded, dove like feathers. The desislav society does not look down upon the male or female, and believes in equal rights and opportunity. However, it is harshly frowned upon for a female desislav to dress in a way that would expose any part of her chest or legs.
Desislav marry much like humans do, though they pair for life. Their society allows for anyone to marry who they wish to, though homosexuality is severely frowned upon. Those who are homosexual and known, tend to be shunned by the desislav.
The desislav often hire themselves out as guards and even become a sort of Aztersil police force. Most of them have a very stern countenance. They seem to be unimpressed with most of life, as if they have already seen all of the wonders and horrors the world has to offer.
Desislav are very lawful creatures. They will follow and uphold the laws as they see them. There are no evil desislav, only those that see and follow a different law. Once a desislav has recognized, follows, and upholds certain laws, it is impossible to change his mind about them, even if these laws are completely unreasonable. Those who believe in different laws are seen as blind. A desislav cares little about others laws only his own.
Without armor, the desislav enjoy wearing clothing that is loose, and allows free movement of their wings.
The desislav are the only race that do not worship or believe in a god for only their people. They worship the laws they believe in. as such, desislav also become the only race who normally, do not use magic. It has been seen for one, or small groups of desislav to follow another race's god, and with that, gain magic.
As any winged creature, desislav have the ability to fly. They are the only race that can do so. Desislav can communicate with each other, and only other desislav, telepathically. With flesh contact, they can communicate to others, all other races and creatures, telepathically.
While they have feathers, the desislav have a razor feather ability. With a simple thought, all feathers covering their wings will shine with deadly razor tips. Either beating their wings in an enemies face, or plucking feathers to use them as knives are good options.
Other than these, they have but to rely on their own strength and power.
Much of the desislav fighting styles are based upon crippling sword blows, and blinding the opponent. Desislav use their wings as weapons as much as their chosen main weapon. Unfortunately, this can often result in the loss of a wing and becoming crippled.
Desislav can live and thrive in almost any season of weather, hot or cold. They have amazing endurance and strength in battle. They have powerful wills as well. Because of this, desislav tend to be terrible slaves.
Desislav do not use magic. Once all the feathers have fallen out, they are great swimmers. Before that, while the wings still have feathers, they cannot swim. They are weak to fire, wind, and earth attacks.

Vereroy
Desislavian capital city. The great city is build entirely of hard onyx. It can be seen from miles away, reflecting the light of the sun in all directions. Much like Earth's ancient Sparta, the city of Vereroy is dedicated only to the training of young, and to warfare. Princes and bands from all over Aztersil arrive on skyships, hoping to hire a small army of desislav to their side. The city is centered around a massive prison complex, the famous Vereroy desislav prison. Here, many if not all convicted, and not killed, prisoners are sent into the clutches of the Aztersil self declared police force.
When a young desislav loses his first feather, it is a major day, and a time to celebrate among the family. It is the day he is looked at to have become an adult. This happens normally in the late 20s.
0-23 years old
The feathers completely cover the wings
24-47
Feathers begin to recede and fall out along the bottom edges, exposing black claws and the tips of leather.
48-94
Feathers recede to nearly halfway up the wings, creating a half feathered, half leathered wing. The top claws begin to poke through the top joint of the wing.
95-150
Feathers recede all the way to only lightly covering the top of the wings.
151- death (normally around 250ish)
All feathers have fallen out, leaving only the great bat like wings.
These classes are unique to the desislav only
- Razor Warrior: those who have mastered the razor feather ability. These desislav use their wings and feathers as their primary weapon. Using long flight feathers as swords, and smaller ones as knives. Sadly, when the feathers fall out, they are left without a weapon but for the claws on their featherless wings. Because of this, razor warriors will often have several smaller and one large feather(s) preserved for long term use.
- Tencnowraith: these desislav have worked years to extend the telepathic ability. They can read the mind of those they can see, unfortunately such diligence with the mind has left them lacking in the fighter area, and they are unable to wield heavy weapons. A tencnowraith can also create illusions in their enemies mind, making them see and feel things that are not there.
It is rare, but not unheard of, for a desislav to be born with one, or both wings crippled. This will render the desislav flightless and the wing(s) will sit strangely on his back. A second mutation is one having more than one pair of wings. Rare, but not unheard of, that a desislav can have up to three pairs of wings. This mutation is known as the archangel disease.
The desislavian tongue is a harsh language. It sounds to most who have not learned the different sounds, to be a rough, growling language. The name is so difficult for one not born a desislav to pronounce, that it is referred to as the desislavian tongue.
